Training and Courses
INPP (Scotland) Limited is recognised by the GTC as CPD Providers. School based training is provided and tailored to the specific needs of the school and staff that require further professional development in responding to the individual needs of children and adolescents with specific learning and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties. These courses cover a range of topics providing a good opportunity for schools to gain a deeper insight into the physical considerations of pupils with specific learning and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties and become more informed as how best to cater for these pupils needs, and where possible how to implement physical exercises to help ameliorate pupils limitations and barriers to learning.
We are also designated providers of the ‘INPP Developmental Test Battery and Exercise Programme For Use in Schools.’ This programme is a specific and unique course developed by Sally Goddard-Blythe at INPP in Chester.
The following national courses are available:

Bilateral Integration Course
Cost £350 (Including lunch and refreshments, manual* and certificate of attendance)
Wednesday 13th & Thursday 14th May 2009
The Bilateral Integration Course provides an opportunity for teachers and other professionals working with children to gain a thorough understanding of the foundations of Bilateral Integration and how to apply a bilateral integration exercise programme within their setting. The two-day course provides an extensive range of physical exercises to cater for all abilities.
Bilateral Integration was devised by Sheila Dobie OBE who has worked extensively with individuals with specific learning difficulties, and/or emotional behaviour disorders as well as those who are underachieving despite high intellectual abilities.
The course provides you with an extensive manual that includes a wide range of exercises ranging from gross to fine motor control and from simple to complex movement patterns. The course helps to integrate the two sides of the body and two halves of the body in fluent motion. This enhances automatic motor control, balance and postural control and allows the individual increased opportunity to integrate the sensory systems more efficiently. This helps to establish the prerequisite skills that link movement to thinking and allow the individuals the opportunity to access their potential with greater ease.
